AMIE 2013 Cultural Exchange Programs

This year AMIE is proud to partner with Issaquah Sister Cities Commission, the City of chefchaouen Morocoo, Issaquah Chamber of Commerce and Issaquah School district on cultural and student exchange programs. Three main actities are planned as follow:

  • Salmon Days Festival: it has become a tradition for Chefchaouen to participate in Issaquah's Salmon days festival. This year we have more activities planed. in addition to two city officials from Chefchaouen, 3 artists will be joining the festival and conducting workshops at the Issaquah hight school.

  • Student Exchange (Morocco to USA): Coincisiding with Salmon days 2013week, two lucky students from Chefchaouen have been chosen. They will spend 10 days in Issaquah. Students will stay with host families of students from the Issaquah High school. This is an opportunity for them to experience life in an American high school, an American family setting and share a bit about their culture and way of life.  They will learn and  play side by side with their host students and other students...

  • Student Exchange (USA- Morocco): To return the favor, the two students that will host our Moroccan exchange student in October 2013, will get to travel to chefchaouen, Morocco along with a chaperone during spring 2014 break vacation. They will be hosted by the same two students and their families. if you are interested in hosting please , please contact
